AcrePin is a land and hunting map for iPhone, Android and the web, owned and operated by PRIMA AVENTURA LLC, an Oklahoma limited liability company ("AcrePin", "we", "us"). PRIMA AVENTURA LLC is the party responsible for your data under this policy, which covers all three. Anyone who handles your data or responds to you about AcrePin does so only on behalf of PRIMA AVENTURA LLC, not personally. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
What we collect and why
- Account details. Your email address, and your name if your sign-in provider (Apple, Google or Microsoft) shares it. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email; we then only see an Apple relay address. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash. We use these to sign you in, keep your data in sync and send account emails (verification codes, password resets).
- Your location. The app uses your phone's precise location to show where you are on the map, measure distances and navigate. That stays on your device unless you choose a feature that sends it: saving a waypoint or track, looking up weather or elevation for a spot, or sharing your location with a crew during a Group Hunt. The app uses location in the background only while you are recording a track or sharing with a crew, and the system shows an indicator while it does.
- What you save. Waypoints, tracks, lines, areas, Hunt Areas, notes and folders sync to your account so they appear on all your devices. Files you import (such as GPX or KML) are read on your device and only the items you keep are synced.
- Group Hunt. Your handle, the crews you belong to, chat messages and alerts you send, and, while you share during a hunt, your positions. Crew members see your handle, messages and shared positions. Shared position trails are deleted 24 hours after the hunt ends.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, a push token for your device so we can deliver crew alerts and messages.
- Purchases. In the iPhone or Android app, Apple or Google processes payment. On the website, Stripe processes payment: your card details go to Stripe, never to us, and we receive only your plan, its billing dates and whether a payment went through. RevenueCat (app purchases) and Stripe (website purchases) receive your AcrePin account ID and your purchase records so your plan works on every device.
- Safety reports and blocks. If you report a message or person, we keep the report and a copy of the reported text so we can review it. We keep the list of people you block.
- Security logs. Sign-in events, keyed by your account ID or a hash of your email, to stop break-ins and abuse.
We do not collect contacts, photos, health data, advertising identifiers or browsing history, and we don't use analytics or advertising SDKs.
Landowner information on the map
Parcel boundaries, owner names and mailing addresses come from public records published by county and state governments. We show them as published, with the source and date, so you can identify land and ask permission. They are not collected from you or from app users. Landowners can have their name and mailing address removed from AcrePin at any time by emailing [email protected] with the county and parcel number (see the support page). We remove it within two business days, and the removal stays in place when county data is refreshed.
Who processes data for us
- Railway (servers and database, United States)
- Cloudflare (map tile storage; no personal data)
- RevenueCat (App Store and Google Play subscription records)
- Stripe (website payments and subscription records; card details go only to Stripe)
- Sentry (reports of errors on the website and our servers: the error, the page or request where it happened, and your browser and device type; set not to receive your name, email address, IP address or what you save)
- Our email provider (account emails and support)
- Expo, Apple and Google (push notification delivery)
- Apple, Google and Microsoft, only if you sign in with them
- Have I Been Pwned (when you set a password we send the first 5 characters of its hash, never the password, to check it against known breaches)
- U.S. National Weather Service (the coordinates of a spot you look up)
Each of these providers may only use the data to provide its service to us, and must protect it at least as well as this policy does. We share data with law enforcement only when the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app (Account, then Delete account) or on the web. Deletion removes your account, saved items, crew memberships, shared positions, push tokens and sign-in links right away, and revokes Sign in with Apple access. Messages you sent stay in your crews' chat history with your name removed, so the conversation still makes sense to the others; crews you own pass to another member. Copies in encrypted backups expire within 30 days. Reports you filed about others are kept without your identity. You can turn off location, notifications or background location at any time in your phone's settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
Children
AcrePin is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to appeal a decision we make about a request. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app before the change applies.
